The university journey is an exciting experience… but at times, it can get overwhelming. You might face anxiety, loneliness, burnout, academic challenges, or struggle to balance your studies with work.
Today, finding your well-being is easier with WAVE: a movement, a wave of people, services, and places making the university an even more inclusive space, open to new ideas.
WAVE (Wellbeing and Assistance for Valuable Education) is the project by the Universities and Academies of Lazio that puts you at the center: your balance, your emotions, your psychophysical health.
Because well-being is not a destination, but a journey that begins with a simple gesture.
A single horizon of well-being
Entering adulthood brings profound challenges: academic pressures, uncertainties about the future, changing relationships, and the search for IdentityThe sense of who you are, what you want, and what matters to you; it is built over time, also through experiences and relationships.. In these transitions, feeling overwhelmed is not a failure: it is human.
This is why WAVE brings together professionals, services, sports activities, and more, to help you find balance, energy, and perspective.
The WAVE project, winner of the MUR’s PROBEN Call for Proposals, was created to build a unified system of psychological, emotional, and physical support for all students in Lazio.
Leading the project is Sapienza University of Rome, together with a network of Universities and AFAM Institutes committed to shaping a shared, accessible, and concrete “Lazio model”.
The voices of those who took the first step
Every area of the project stems from a concrete need of the students. These testimonials capture what most often happens when someone decides to take the first step.
In this section, you can read the stories of those who found a listening ear, support, and new perspectives thanks to the project’s services.

PROBEN Survey on Student Well-being
Take part in the survey on the mental and physical well-being of university and AFAM students.
Your contribution will help us understand the needs, difficulties, and resources of the student population, with the goal of improving the support services offered by Universities and AFAM institutions.
The questionnaire explores various aspects of the student experience: emotional well-being, relationships, academic life, stress, emotional management, daily habits, and potentially risky behaviors, such as substance use.
The responses collected will be used to develop more targeted prevention actions and support interventions.
All students from the Universities and AFAM institutions involved in the project can participate.
The survey is completed online, anonymously, and takes about 30 minutes. Data will only be analyzed in aggregate form and used exclusively for scientific research and service improvement purposes.
