The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome renews its participation in the WAVE (Pro-Ben) project, an initiative supported by the Ministry of University and Research to counter psychological distress and promote wellbeing among the student population.
The main updates and planned activities include:
- Focus groups: widespread meetings will be organized across the various courses to gather reflections and suggestions directly from students, with the goal of improving the quality of their academic life.
- Strengthening of counselling services: the counselling service will see an increase in available hours and, embracing the concept of an “educating community”, will also be extended to faculty and administrative staff.
- Workshops and art against violence: in collaboration with the Lucha y Siesta APS, a series of lectures and artistic workshops focusing on gender themes and combating violence will be developed, culminating in an exhibition at the Academy’s CrossinGallery.
- Creative video interviews: students will conduct interviews with their peers on the themes of wellbeing and distress, creatively reworking them for the final exhibition.
The project invites the entire academic community—students, faculty, and staff—to actively participate in building a healthier and more mindful learning and working environment.
