The counseling service at the University of Tuscia offers support for emotional or relational difficulties, anxiety, and Self-esteemThe value you place on yourself: how you judge yourself and how capable you feel. issues linked to the academic environment, as well as challenges in dealing with exams, which may stem—among other things—from specific learning disabilities and other forms of neurodivergence.

- Intake and Initial Consultation. The psychological CounselingA short-term process with a specialist designed to help you better understand yourself and navigate difficult times. journey begins with an initial consultation. This session provides a safe time and space to share your concerns, understand your current difficulties, and assess whether to start a tailored counseling pathway.
- Individual Psychological Support At the end of the initial consultation, the student can decide to take advantage of individual psychological support. Three weekly sessions are scheduled, each lasting 50 minutes. The sessions aim to support students in expanding their self-awareness, clarifying the difficulties experienced in their current situation, and understanding how to cope with them in the best possible way.
- Referrals to Other Professionals and Local Mental Health Services Once the 4-session process is completed, the user may decide to pursue a longer-term intervention (e.g., psychotherapy); alternatively, the CounselingA short-term process with a specialist designed to help you better understand yourself and navigate difficult times. intervention may be inappropriate or insufficient for the nature of the difficulty presented. In such cases, the psychologist will be able to provide the student with useful contacts to reach out to.
The service is open to faculty, administrative and technical staff, and students. It is completely free of charge and consists of 4 sessions with a psychologist/psychotherapist (extendable to 6 in special circumstances). Students can request the service once per academic year.
If needed, and especially for the international student community, this service can be supported by a cultural mediator.
The duration of the sessions and the service procedures are agreed upon at a national level with all universities belonging to the CRUI (Conference of Italian University Rectors).

Users will receive an email directly from the specialist to arrange a date for an initial consultation. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the consultation will take place within 20 days of receiving the request. It is also recommended to check your spam folder.
At the end of your sessions, we kindly ask you to fill out an anonymous questionnaire to help us evaluate the quality of our service. Please select the appropriate link based on the language of your consultation: in Italian (click here) or in English (click here).
Sessions can be held either in person or remotely, in agreement with your counselor. Remote consultations will take place via Skype, Google Meet, or Zoom; the access link will be emailed to you on the day of your appointment, at the address provided during booking. Please make sure to check your spam folder as well.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please inform the office at least three days in advance by sending an email to consulenzapsicologica@unitus.it.

- uncertainty about your choice of study;
- feeling stuck with thesis preparation or the final stages of your degree;
- relationship and emotional difficulties;
- feelings of DisorientationA feeling of being confused, lost, or not knowing which direction to take in life or in your studies., isolation, or general dissatisfaction;

Description of the support offered:
Sessions are also available in English and online from abroad for all students regularly enrolled in UNITUS courses. The service includes specific support measures for Erasmus and/or international students, namely: the possibility of individual online sessions from abroad. The duration of the service and the booking procedure are the same for the entire enrolled student community.

Theatre of the Oppressed Project This project is a new form of cross-disciplinary activity involving both students and faculty members, aimed at promoting the inclusion and well-being of both domestic and international students. Activities can be carried out over the course of a semester or academic year, focusing on a topic to be agreed upon with the Inclusion Committee, for a total of approximately 30 hours, divided into 3 to 4-hour sessions.
