On June 8th, 2025, the sixth edition of “Padel e Salute” concluded at the Sapienza Sport facility on Via delle Fornaci di Tor di Quinto, an event that successfully transformed the sports center into a true hub for medical prevention. Organized by the Cultural Association Capire per Prevenire (Understanding to Prevent) in collaboration with Sapienza University of Rome, the Umberto I General Hospital, and the Sant’Andrea University Hospital, the event saw a record turnout of approximately 3,000 people, including athletes, citizens, and healthcare professionals.
Three Days Dedicated to Health
The heart of the event was the Villaggio della Salute, where citizens could access free medical check-ups and specialist consultations with no booking required. Numerous medical fields were represented thanks to the participation of Rome’s leading hospital centers, including cardiology, dermatology, gynecology, pediatrics, and many others. The initiative reaffirmed once again that “prevention is the most effective medicine.”
Sport as a Driver of Wellbeing
On the padel courts, the competition was both lively and inclusive:
- Friday, June 6th: The day was dedicated to tournaments for students and medical staff.
- Saturday, June 7th: The highly anticipated Club Tournament Master was held, marking the final act of a competition that began in April and involved numerous sports centers across Rome and its province.
- Sunday, June 8th: The awards ceremony at 1:00 PM officially brought the games to a close on the main stage.
In addition to padel, participants were able to recharge in the Wellness Area with sessions of yoga, pilates, and morning stretch classes.
Inclusivity and Social Commitment
The 2025 edition, which featured Laura Freddi as its official ambassador, placed a special emphasis on social impact. The event continued its support for the AIPD (Associazione Italiana Persone Down) Italian Association for People with Down Syndrome), promoting sport as a tool for cohesion and ensuring full accessibility to the facilities for people with disabilities.
The leadership of Sapienza University and the participating university hospitals expressed great satisfaction, emphasizing that “Padel e Salute” has now become a vital investment for the local community and a winning model for promoting a healthy lifestyle through the synergy between sport and medical science.
