The University of Tuscia Launches the PROBEN Project to Promote Students’ Psychophysical Wellbeing

21 September 2025

On September 22nd, PROBEN was presented the WAVE project funded by the MIUR, jointly led by the University of Tuscia and Sapienza University of Rome, in collaboration with LUMSA, UNINT, and LINK, as well as the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and the Silvio D’Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Coordinated by Dr. Martina Galli (the Rector’s Delegate for Inclusion and Equity and PROBEN Scientific Coordinator) and included in the program of the UNITUS Science and Research Week, the initiative was divided into two sessions to illustrate the University’s commitment to promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of the university community.

  • The morning session, held from 9:30 am in the Carlo Azeglio Ciampi Auditorium, featured the presentation of the Theatre of the Oppressed workshop, including student testimonials and a keynote by Dr. Francesca Aloi. This was followed by the performance “Vralexia va in scena”, created as part of the “Stand Up 4 Inclusive Science” project—an initiative combining theatre and scientific dissemination, curated by Juri Taborri, Federica Giuliani, and Francesco Riva.
  • The afternoon session, starting at 2:30 pm in the Aula Magna of Santa Maria in Gradi, opened with a round table discussion on the experiences and findings of PROBEN. This saw the participation of other universities, including Sapienza University of Rome, the project’s co-lead alongside UNITUS. Following this, ongoing and completed project activities within PROBEN were presented, while the session concluded with another round table dedicated to the physical and mental wellbeing initiatives promoted by individual Departments.

A day of experiences, meetings, and exchanges that highlighted the countless initiatives carried out by the University of Tuscia within the framework of the PROBEN project. From theatre workshops to experimental programs, from lecture series on physical and mental wellbeing to the creation of new spaces and facilities, UNITUS is involved through a multidimensional, multi-departmental, and systemic commitment.
