Academic institutions continue their commitment to promoting student wellbeing through the Proben project, funded by the MUR (Italian Ministry of University and Research) and renewed for 2026. Among the initiatives launched is the artistic production workshop “Art, Consent, and Combating Gender-Based Violence – WAVE Project 2026“, promoted by the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in collaboration with numerous partner universities, including Sapienza University of Rome.
Developed in partnership with the Associazione Casa delle donne Lucha y Siesta, the program runs from March to September 2026 at the Campo Boario venue. It engages the student community in theoretical meetings, workshops, and artistic co-design activities. At the heart of the project are core themes such as gender-based violence, discrimination, stereotypes, and relationships, all addressed through an interdisciplinary and participatory approach.
The workshop, reserved for a selected group of students, guides participants from the initial phase of analysis and awareness through to the creation of original artworks, supported by artists, curators, and anti-violence support workers. In parallel, the open lectures offer in-depth insights accessible to the entire community.
An initiative that confirms the value of art as a tool for awareness, inclusion, and social transformation, as well as an educational opportunity recognized through the award of academic credits to participating students.
